How do I get online
If you are not already connected to the Internet there are many companies offering the service - we can help you choose if you wish. There are many packages offered from £14 pm plus phone line rental. Some include free phone calls so it is worth checking out www.ukoffer.com/broadband.php to see what is available. You will not need the highest connection 512 Kb or 1 Mb is sufficient - unless you want to watch streaming videos over the Internet.

What is broadband
Is a fast Internet connection, which for a fixed monthly payment (with the better suppliers at least) gives you an 'always on' connection via your telephone line without interfering with your normal use of the phone.

What equipment do I need
You need a computer capable of viewing web pages - it does not need to be 'high powered' and machines from Dell Computers are available with prices starting as low as £149 though you will probably want to use the machine for other things and may need a DVD drive - or speakers - or be able to make cheap/free phone calls. You can email Samuel at Dell or call him direct 0870 9075128 extension 72742 at Dell who is familiar with the needs of our system and can give you excellent advice - for free! Alternatively have a look at their website - there are often very worthwhile special offers www.dell.co.uk.

I don't have an email address
We will provide you with all the email addresses to use for customer orders; payment confirmation and customer enquiries. Additional addresses are available if you require.

Is it secure
Yes - all money transactions are carried out using the secure systems provided by the supplier of the payment method you choose. We recommend PayPal as many of your customers who use the web will already have an account with them.

What are the costs to me of an online order
Broadband rental - but reduced phone calls and staff time
Paper and ink for printing the orders!
Online bank charges for PayPal can be found on their website. www.paypal.co.uk.

What if I do not have a website
No problem - Best Food Web is a small website - it can be expanded at very reasonable cost.
We will create a site for you to your design which will promote your restaurant as well as holding the online menu and ordering system. If you do not have a domain name (www.myrestaurant.co.uk) we will attempt to get your choice. Alternatively we can create a "sub domain" for you - myrestaurant.bestfoodweb.com.

I already have a website
We will design the online ordering and menu system to match your site and either integrate it into your site or provide the necessary link system to it
We do not need access to your server as the system engine is hosted on our servers.

Can it handle customer collect/deliver choice
Yes - the method of operation will be tailored to suit your working practices.

Pre-order
A pre-order module is included to allow your customers to place orders for a pre arranged time and date - even if you are closed.

Opening and closing hours
You can quickly and simply display opening and closing times as well as disable ordering of out of stock items.
You can disable the ordering page if you are getting near to closing but still leave the menu and pre-order pages visible for your customers.

Will the system block my phone line
If you use broadband Internet connection you still use your phone normally whilst you have your receive orders system (or any other internet facility) running.
Some other systems send orders by fax - if you only have one line the phone will be blocked when orders are coming in.

Does Best Food Web receive payments and then pass them on to me
No -you have full control of payments unlike some other systems that also act as the online bank.

Can it handle specials and other messages
We design the function of the web to suit you - you can have message facilities that you create and modify through our simple online forms in the control panel.

Are Bogus orders a problem
Because orders are pre-paid you no longer have the annoyance of bogus orders.

Can I have my own logo and photos
The system is designed to your specification and we will of course include your logo and photos. We ask that you supply us with a digital version - but if you have not got a digital version send us a clean crisp copy of a printed version.

Multiple Restaurants
If you have multiple restaurants the customer will be able to choose the most convenient location. Best Food Web is very flexible and modules can be tailored to handle multi-locations

How quickly can I start online trading
We aim to have you up and running in 2 to 3 weeks from receiving your details and your approval of the design and operation method.

How will I receive orders
The food orders will come to you via email

What info will I receive with the orders
The email will include any special details you require along with the order and contact details. Orders and payments have a unique reference number

Wont I just get orders from existing customers
Marketing the service will ensure that you get more orders from existing customers plus orders from a growing band of new customers. Also look at the ADVANTAGES and BENEFITS section.

How your website operates

* Your customer opens your online menu
* Chooses and adds the items to the shopping basket
* When ordering complete clicks CHECK OUT
* Customer fills in details and clicks PAY NOW
* You receive an email with the order and reference number
* Best Food Web system hands control over to your chosen bank (e.g. PayPal)
* The bank opens a secure form for taking details of payment & emails payment confirmation to you and your customer
* The Bank then hands control back to your website and you fill the order

Control panel

Log on to your private control page of your website using a password

You will see the main menu

1 create a menu

Choose CREATE a Menu where we have created a simple input form based on your existing menu.

Type in your menu information in the boxes

Group Name: e.g. "PIZZAS"
Group Text: The description for this group, or leave blank if none - e.g. "All pizzas are made from the best ingredients"

Enter the individual item details
Item Name: e.g. "Margherita Pizza"
Item Text: The description for this item, or leave blank if none.
Item Price: The price for this item

Repeat this process for all your menu items in this group.
You can alter any entry at any time

Now click the NEXT GROUP BUTTON to repeat the process for all the menu groups.

When finished click CHECK MENU to immediately see the menu on your screen and check for accuracy.

You have an option to AMEND the menu to correct mistakes.

When done, SAVE your menu with a name - e.g. "Standard"; "Special" etc.

Or SCRAP the menu and all details will be lost.

Finally UPLOAD if you wish to activate the menu immediately for your customers to see online.

2 Load Menu
You can also LOAD any previously created menus.

3 Amend Menu
You can AMEND a previously created menu.

4 Create Message
CREATE and upload messages for display on your website
- e.g. "Free delivery on orders over £15"

5 Load Message
LOAD a message to your pc for modifying and activating

6 Open/Close Online Ordering
Use this function to disable real-time online ordering, but not the menu or customer pre-order form, when closed or unable to fill orders before your closing time.

7 Out of Stock
Use this function to disable online ordering of items that are out of stock. They will, however still be displayed on the menu.

8 View Site
This allows you to view the site in a new browser window without logging out of your control panel.

9 Exit
This logs you out of the control panel and replaces it with your site

10 Contact Redcetera BestFoodWeb
You can use this button to bring up a contact form - you can use it to report a problem or even to let us know of an improvement or addition you would like to the system.

Help is available via the phone during office hours.
While you are setting up the system and for the first few weeks of operation, please let us know your working hours and we will have a technician on standby via the phone (number only available to purchasers of the system)
